Despite the straightforward circumstances surrounding the publication in 1554 of the Missa L’Aveuglé dieu with a clear and unambiguous attribution to Janequin, plus its subsequent convenient availability in the archives of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich, the idea that this mass is not authentic has proliferated in the the secondary literature.
